Today’s flooding of the low water bridge in photos

This is close to normal water heights for most of the year at the bridge. Do notice there are no "sides" on this bridge - it is just a flat slab.

One of the last vehicles in or out early this afternoon. The water is rising. The end of the bridge where the car is located is much lower than the end nearest me taking the photo.

About 7 this evening. No more in or out, the current is much too strong. The sound here is amazing loud. My daughter and her family are out for yet another night. I am in on the "island", caring for all our animals.

This week the flooding was rather mild, this is more the norm.

  1. When Megan and I left here in December of 2006 and crossed that bridge I said “YES!! Never again!” I was so happy to be moving down to our farm and away from the flooding of the no-sided bridge. Well, I learned the hard way, never say never.

  2. My daughter Alyssa still could not get across this morning, but she and her family will all be coming in shortly as the water is pretty much off. However, we are supposed to get rain tomorrow afternoon, night and Saturday morning, so it may go right back over. sigh
